‘Twisted Palace’ Goodreads Synopsis –

These Royals will ruin you… From mortal enemies to unexpected allies, two teenagers try to protect everything that matters most. Ella Harper has met every challenge that life has thrown her way. She’s tough, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the people she loves, but the challenge of a long-lost father and a boyfriend whose life is on the line might be too much for even Ella to overcome. Reed Royal has a quick temper and even faster fists. But his tendency to meet every obstacle with violence has finally caught up with him. If he wants to save himself and the girl he loves, he’ll need to rise above his tortured past and tarnished reputation. No one believes Ella can survive the Royals. Everyone is sure Reed will destroy them all. They may be right. With everything and everyone conspiring to keep them apart, Ella and Reed must find a way to beat the law, save their families, and unravel all the secrets in their Twisted Palace.

‘Twisted Palace’ Novel Review –

I really wanted this novel to go well. But in the end, I gave it a rating of 3/5 stars. I know there are heaps of mixed reviews about this series and I’m so confused as to whether I love it or if I’m ready to part ways with it. One thing I didn’t enjoy bout this novel was how it was very predictable. By the time I reached the middle of the novel it was easy for me to predict where the story was going.

Another thing I didn’t enjoy about ‘Twisted Palace’ was how the main female character, Ella, became so dependent on her boyfriend, while during the first and second novels she was so head strong and independent. In terms of the content, the case against Reed was just so abnormal and as the reader it wasn’t believable. It would have been interesting if they never found the person who committed the crime. In terms of characters, I felt like Ella never really stuck up for herself in situations which she knew she didn’t like. Whenever she was evidently uncomfortable she wouldn’t vocalise it, therefore making her look weak and bratty.

All in all, this novel was not my cup of tea. The first two novels to the series were so good, that I would recommend anyone to read those but if anything, skip over this novel (unless you really want to read the full series).
